Dave was born on January 10th, 1970 in St. Andrews, Scotland into a musical family. At 3 years old he was playing the violin, and in his teens he took up the piano, later followed by the guitar.

It was the piano that came to be his instrument of choice, and by the time he was 24 he had two music degrees in piano, and music therapy. His other passion, exploring human potential and resiliency as a marriage and personal counsellor, took centre stage for the better part of a decade after he received his Masters in Counselling Psychology, but now, at this point in his life, he is  returning to his first love - music.

This personal music renaissance really took off in the summer of 2012 when Grammy-award-winner, and multiple gold and platinum record recipient Will Ackerman heard Dave's music and invited him to record at his world-renowned Imaginary Road Studio. As expected the recording process was immensely personally satisfying, and produced a collection of music that Dave and Will are very proud of.  A deep synergy between Dave, Will, and Will's amazingly talented engineer, Tom Eaton, enabled everyone to perform at the top of their games and by the end of only the second day the album  "Unbroken" had been recorded - Will thinks two days might be a record. Since its release in November 2012  "Unbroken" has been receiving accolades from  the most influential names in the field of solo piano music, and the momentum seems to be building day by day.

Dave is thrilled by the unbelievable musical opportunities that are continually presenting themselves  and he is already at work on some new and exciting projects so stay tuned!
